“There are moments when troubles enter our lives and we can do nothing to avoid them.
But they are there for a reason. Only when we have overcome them will we understand why they were there.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Fifth Mountain

Must-Do's Prior to Actual Studying.. not just flipping through your book thinking that is "studying":
- watch all the crash course videos...... if you actually read first
- annotate your outlines and comp books... again.. in a different color
- actually look through the practice books
- set up study sessions with friends.... no boyfriends or girlfriends
- make a huge, gigantic timeline
- finish your reading on chapter 9..
- make sure your composition books are written in and up-to-date ("uh oh!" says most students). I will be collecting these
- place all your rubrics, skills, text charting verbs and other super important handouts in your "took kit" section... this is so you can bust them out when I ask you to during our in-class study sessions
- wondering if you are exempt from the final? ... well you have to wonder a little bit longer. I will inform all of those exempt from the final next week.. after you answer questions in class and demonstrate your skills to the rest of the class.
Week of Jan. 8th-16th

Wednesday the 8th:
By this point you should be thinking about where to start. You should probably begin to organize your first semester work, binder, comp book etc. Then you should think about what moments in time you need to review. Or is it skills? Or both?
In your comp book brainstorm, write, etc. your plan of attack for studying.
Thursday the 9th
When are you setting up time to study? Where will it be?
In your comp book, answer the following LEQ: How and to what degree did the ideals of the Enlightenment create political and social change?
The Weekend:
Stay away from social media and your phone this weekend especially. Tell your parents that you need to be in lock-down mode and begin (if you haven't already) preparations to study. Figure out what "studying" means. On Monday you must show me evidence of you studying. Whatever that means...
Take the online tests on AP Central, including the LEQ and short answer.
